We will also enjoy traditional activities like swimming in the pool, creek exploring, singing, fishing, outdoor skills, crafts, games, and cooking on the campfire.

  • Programs and options advance with campers as they get older.

Camp Program

What Will She Do?

Each day of camp will involve your daughter in new and exciting outdoor activities with her unit (a group of 12-20 girls near the same age). While the specific activities will vary based on the program she is attending, all the activities are age appropriate, outdoors, and very hands-on. Throughout the week, she will experience many new things, gain skills, make new friends, build courage, confidence, and character.... And she thinks she is just having fun!

All campers will spend time in the swimming pool each day, and each unit will have a chance to lead the flag ceremony. Girls will earn Girl Scout Badges during the week.

K-3rd Graders

Campers in this age group are often attending camp for the first or second time, and they get a taste of everything camp has to offer. Swimming in the pool is a favorite activity, and the shallow end is a haven for girls still in the learning process (lifeguards are on duty at all times, and all campers will take a swimming assessment on the first day to determine how deep they are allowed to go in the pool.) For many girls, this is their first chance to go fishing, creek walking, explore nature, and cook on a campfire... and they love it! The themed programs are different each year, but are always an engaging, hands-on activity. At the end of the week, each unit performs a skit/song at the End of Camp Ceremony and we all say our goodbyes until next year.

What will she do? Girls entering K-3rd grade

  • Swimming, Creek Exploring, Fishing, Outdoor Skills, Crafts, Games, Songs, Cook on the Campfire, Themed Programs, Flag Ceremony, Camp Kapers, Adventure Playground, Explore Nature, Girl Choice, Make New Friends, and the End of Camp Ceremony.

  • Note: Girls entering Kindergarten in the fall might be a Pixie or Daisy. If she is 5 years old by camp AND registered as a GS then she can register as a Daisy. If she is not a registered GS then she can only attend camp as a Pixie.

4th-5th Graders

Campers in this age group are just as likely to be returning campers as they are to be new campers, so it is a great opportunity for girls to pass on what they have learned and share new ideas. Campers still get to do all their favorite activities (just for fun, at a slightly higher level, or with an additional challenge), and they have the opportunity to do archery and stay overnight. Archery is always a hit, and crossing the swinging bridge to get there is unforgettable.

The overnight gives campers the opportunity to extend their fun and experience camp in a new way. Most campers (9 out of 10) do sign-up to stay overnight and it is a highly anticipated activity.

Most campers in this age group have some camp experience and are ready for a bit more adventure than their standard favorite camp activities. The girls have the opportunity to choose their activities as a unit, practice more advanced skills/activities, and be an example for all the younger campers. They also have the choice to stay overnight and most campers choose to participate. They have the option to take an off-site trip each year and thay will be going to Camp Stem to do the high ropes course.

Girl in this age group participate in the transition from campers to Camp Aides within the Aide-in-Training (AIT) Program. The AIT program is a girl-centered and dynamic training that is full of fun and surprises. The main focus is on leadership, decision making, team work, and camp skills. They will have several engaging experiences throughout the week, including developing and leading a program for younger campers. They are expected to participate in the overnight on Wednesday and Thursday. Each AIT will be evaluated throughout the week on her leadership, teamwork, camp skills, maturity, ability to follow instructions and make sound decisions, and more. AITs who pass the program have the option to be a Camp Aide in the future (or she can return as an AIT year after year). Some AITs repeat the  program multiple times for various reasons. Girls who do not wish to go through training, or become a Camp Aide, may register in the Cadette+ unit.

Girls interested in being an Camp Aide in the future should take Teen Mentor Core Training offered by the council.

Camp Aides

Untitled

Camp Aides are teen volunteers who work at camp all week. Girls in the Camp Aide program take a leadership role within a unit of campers and are a core component to a great camp. The CAs will complete 40 service hours. CAs stay at camp all week (Sunday afternoon-Friday afternoon). Camp Aides must be entering 9th grade and up; Girls who are entering 8th grade should register in the Cadette Unit or AIT Unit.

Please review the updated requirements to be a Camp Aide on the Volunteer page.  Teens must complete the Area 9 and 12 AIT Program prior to being a Camp Aide. Teens who have completed AIT training at another camp will be evaluated to determine eligibility.

Yes, you can be a CA after you finish high school. The summer after 12th grade, if you are age 17 during camp, you will be a CA. If you are age 18 during camp then you have the choice to be a CA or an adult volunteer.

Boys & Pixies

Untitled

We offer a Boy unit and a Pixie unit for the children of volunteers. Boys and Pixies may only be at camp on the day(s) that their adult volunteer is at camp.  They participate in camp activities, and receive a camp shirt and patch.

The Pixie unit is for toilet-trained boys and girls who are 3 years old to entering Kindergarten. Pixies do many of the traditional camp activities, but there are a few accommodations that have been made for these little campers. There is a daily nap/quiet time, easier crafts, less strenuous schedule, and they play in the wet-n-wild area each day (swimming in the pool is not guaranteed and varies year to year and day to day depending on the maturity of those in attendance). Pixies are not allowed in the girl units with a parent/guardian volunteer, but there are many opportunities for the volunteer check on their little one throughout the day.

Note: Girls entering Kindergarten in the fall might be a Pixie or Daisy. If she is 5 years old by camp AND registered as a GS then she can register as a Daisy. If she is not a registered GS then she must attend camp as a Pixie.

The Boy unit is for boys who are entering 1st grade to 6th grade (or 11 years old). They participate in all the traditional camp programs and have just as much, if not more, fun than the girls at camp.

Boys and Pixies participating in the Wednesday Overnight is based on volunteer need and is at the Camp Directors discretion.

Not allowed at camp: Children in diapers/pull-ups and boys 12-17 years old.

Boy/Pixie Fee: $20
