Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available to registered Girl Scouts through the Joyce Seymour Leadership Fund. The funding is limited and is intended to assist campers who would not otherwise be able to participate, so we ask that girls be honest and courteous when deciding to submit an application for a scholarship.
-
To Apply, Complete the JSLF Scholarship Application and follow the instructions listed.
-
The Joyce Seymour Leadership Fund is dedicated to providing leadership opportunities for girls gained through the outdoor experience. Opportunities supported by the fund include GSK Counselor Training Program, GSK Camp, GSUSA Destinations and troop and/or GSK outdoor adventures.
-
The Girl Scout office will then notify both you and the camp registrar of the decision concerning the scholarship.
-
Note: Registration date will be used for the "Paid in Full" for those who receive a JSLF scholarship.

Acceptance Process (Why is my camper on the waiting list?)
Our ultimate goal is to accept every camper who wants to attend camp. While there is a physical capacity of the camp, the required adult-to-camper ratio is what currently determines our capacity. Many factors go into the priority order of the acceptance process, but we always use the following guidelines:
-
Every adult at camp is a volunteer! Space at camp is limited by the number of adult volunteers and this camp only takes place because of the volunteers. The children of volunteers will be given placement preference above those without a volunteer. For clarity, this means that a volunteer child who registers on the last day is given priority over a non-volunteer child who registers on the first day.
-
Priority Order:
-
Campers with a Volunteer (by date registered and paid)
-
Campers without a Volunteer (by date registered and paid)
-
-
Submitting registration and full payment allows us to process your camper's interest in attending - it does not guarantee their place at camp.
-
Once their registration is processed, campers will initially either be "Confirmed" or on the "Waiting List".
-
Waiting List System
-
Campers on the waiting list do not have a spot at camp yet.
-
Campers are placed, and remain, on the waiting list until full payment is received. (*Registration date will be used for those who receive a JSLF scholarship.)
-
Campers remain on the waiting list until we have the required amount of volunteers to meet adult to camper ratios.
-
Campers move from the Waiting List to Confirmed throughout the registration process with the last Confirmations taking place after registration closes.
-
-
Campers are placed in units by grade level, so sometimes we have openings for a 6th grader, but all the units for a 2nd grader are at capacity.
-
We don't have a crystal ball and cannot predict who will sign-up to volunteer, so we often do not know if/when your camper will be moved off the waiting list.
-
Sometimes all it takes is 1 more volunteer to open up a unit for 16 more campers!
-
We are Girl Scouts, and it would not be honest and fair of us to make exceptions to our policies for some and not for all.

Late Registration
We do not accept any registrations after April 30.
Refunds
The camp fee may be refunded for a cancellation due to illness, family emergency, or a move. Requests for a refund must be made in writing to the camp director at least 30 days prior to the first day of camp (by May 22, 2026). A non-refundable $15 processing fee is applied to each camper.
After registration closes, if we cannot accommodate your camper then we will issue a full refund.
Health and safety
Girls Scouts of Kentuckiana day camps and summer camporees adhere to the standards for health and safety set by the state and the Girl Scouts as printed in Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity Checkpoints.
Lost and Found
Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana and day camps cannot be responsible for loss of, or damage to, campers' personal belongings. Any items not claimed within 14 days of camp closing will be donated to a local charity. Check the Facebook page for lost of found photos.
CURRENT VOLUNTEER NEEDS
-
The number of campers we can accept is based on the number of adult volunteers who sign up.
-
ALL the adults at camp are volunteers who give their time freely to make this camp possible for girls.
